National Board of Trial Advocates
The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the quality of trial advocacy in the courtroom and assisting the consumer of legal services in finding experienced and highly qualified trial lawyers. NBTA is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) to certify lawyers in specialty areas of the practice of law. The organization is endorsed and sponsored by many national and international organizations including the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA), International Society of Barristers and the National District Attorneys Association.

NBTA is a voluntary certification. In order to become a member of this elite group of trial attorneys, an attorney must undergo an exhaustive screening process, including: documentation of significant jury trial experience; judicial and peer references; and pass a day long written examination. An attorney must also meet the rigorous ethical standards of the NBTA to be qualified. Candidates who are certified by NTBA reflect a dedication to the profession, and a desire to maintain the highest standards in the practice of law. To date, there are over 1950 attorneys nationwide who have been certified in civil trial advocacy.

For more information about NBTA go to www.nbtanet.org.

SERBIN, KOVACS & NYPAVER, LLP., is proud that ATTORNEY RICHARD M. SERBIN has achieved the certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in civil trial law. ATTORNEY SERBIN has been certified by NBTA since 1989.

Pennsylvania Super Lawyer (2006)
» How Super Lawyers Are Selected:
In 2005, Law and Politics and the publisher of Philadelphia Magazine attempted to find the currently outstanding lawyers in Pennsylvania. Attorneys throughout the state were asked to nominate the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. A rigorous selection process was thereafter undertaken by Law and Politics, which included surveys of other attorneys, research on the credentials of the nominated attorney, and review by a blue ribbon panel before the attorney received the designation as a “Super Lawyer”. The goal was to select as Super Lawyers the top five (5%) percent of Pennsylvania attorneys.

Richard M. Serbin is proud to be recognized by his peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2006.

Million Dollar Advocates Forum
Membership is limited to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence in advocacy by achieving a trial verdict, award or settlement of at least One Million ($1,000,000.00) Dollars. Less than one (1%) percent of U.S. lawyers are members. The purpose of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum is to certify the accomplishments of trial lawyers who have achieved large awards on behalf of their clients so that they may benefit from that recognition, and so that colleagues and the public will be aware of their accomplishments.
